About us.

Historically, American Indian college graduation rates are far below other ethnic groups. Volunteers who recognized the importance of honoring American Indian graduates created the American Indian Graduation Event in 1986. This graduation is fully funded by donations and organized by volunteers from post-secondary institutions and community members.

Graduates represent tribes from Minnesota, South Dakota, North Dakota, Wisconsin, Michigan and many of the western and southwestern states. Graduates are honored with an invocation from an American Indian spiritual leader, followed by a keynote speaker and an honor song from a Pow Wow Drum.

Donations.

This graduation is fully funded by donations and organized by volunteers from post-secondary institutions and community members. To meet our modest budget, we invite you to contribute monetarily.
